JT Hockey Skills — Terms & Conditions
Where the participant is a minor, these terms are entered into by, and are binding on, the participant's parent or legal guardian. By registering for any JT Hockey Skills program, session, or camp, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. Registration and Placement
Submission of a registration form does not guarantee placement. Registrations are reviewed to ensure appropriate group sizes, age/skill balance, and participant suitability. JT Hockey reserves the right to accept or decline any registration at its sole discretion; if declined, a full refund will be issued.
2. Payment Terms & Methods
To secure a spot, full payment (in CAD) must be completed using one of the following methods:
- Credit Card: Full payment is required immediately at the time of online registration.
- E-Transfer: If selecting e-transfer at checkout, full payment must be sent to jon@jthockey.ca within 24 hours of submitting the registration form. If payment is not received within this window, the registration will be automatically cancelled and the spot released. Please include the participant's full name and program name in the e-transfer memo — registrations cannot be matched to payment without this information.
No other payment methods are accepted unless otherwise agreed to in writing by JT Hockey. Registration is not confirmed, and a spot is not held, until full payment is received.
3. Roster Adjustments & Program Cancellations
JT Hockey reserves the right to move participants between groups at any time to support player development, physical safety, and competitive balance. If a suitable placement cannot be offered, or if JT Hockey cancels a scheduled program in its entirety, a full refund of all payments will be issued.
4. Withdrawal, Refund & Transaction Fee Policy
Because ice time, insurance, and coaching resources are committed at the time of registration, customer-initiated cancellations are subject to the following schedule. "Program start" means the first scheduled session date of the specific program the participant registered for. In all cases, administrative fees are capped at the total amount paid — a refund will never be less than $0.
- 30+ days before program start: Refund of the paid amount, minus a $125 non-refundable administrative fee. For payments made by credit card, the refund will also be net of processing fees (approximately 3%).
- 15–29 days before program start: A 50% refund of the total program fee, or a 100% program credit (minus a $25 administrative fee). Approved cash refunds for credit card payments will be net of processing fees.
- Less than 14 days before program start: No refunds or credits will be issued, except for documented medical reasons (see Section 5, which overrides this tier).
- No refunds are issued for missed sessions.
- In exceptional circumstances not covered above, a credit may be issued at the sole discretion of JT Hockey.
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 10 business days of approval.
5. Medical Withdrawals
If an injury or medical condition completely prevents participation, a pro-rated program credit (minus a $25 administrative fee) may be issued — this applies even within 14 days of the program start, overriding the no-refund tier in Section 4. A valid, written note from a qualified physician must be submitted to JT Hockey within 7 days of the participant's withdrawal from the program to qualify.
6. Credit Card Chargebacks and Disputes
If you have a billing concern or believe a charge was made in error, please contact JT Hockey directly before initiating a credit card chargeback or bank dispute, so we can work to resolve it. Charges made in accordance with this agreement's payment and refund terms are considered authorized; where a dispute is filed for a charge that was properly authorized under these terms, JT Hockey may respond to the dispute using this agreement as evidence of the agreed terms.
7. Code of Conduct
All participants are expected to follow JT Hockey's rules of conduct, effort, and attitude. JT Hockey enforces a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, harassment, discrimination, or abusive behaviour from participants or parents/guardians, on the ice, in dressing rooms, or elsewhere within the facility. JT Hockey may suspend or remove any participant for failing to meet these expectations, without refund.
8. Assumption of Risk & Liability Waiver
Ice hockey involves inherent risks, including serious injury, illness, or property damage. Participation is voluntary and at the participant's own risk. By registering, parents/guardians assume full responsibility for the participant and release, waive, and hold harmless JT Hockey, its owners, directors, coaches, staff, and contractors from any claims, liabilities, or damages arising out of participation.
9. Photo & Video Release
Video and photography may be captured during sessions, primarily for instructional purposes — supporting player development through live error correction and on-ice feedback. Short clips or photos may also be used for social media or the JT Hockey website to highlight programming. By registering, you consent to the use of your child's image or likeness in these materials. To opt out of public sharing, contact JT Hockey directly.
10. Medical Authorization
By registering, you authorize JT Hockey staff to provide or seek basic medical assistance for your child in the event of injury or illness during program activities. JT Hockey will make every effort to contact a parent or guardian before any treatment beyond first aid.
11. Privacy Policy
Participant and family information is collected solely for program administration, safety protocols, and direct communications. JT Hockey will never sell, lease, or share personal data with third parties without consent.
12. Program Changes & Unforeseen Disruptions
Session schedules, locations, and groupings may be adjusted as needed to ensure the best training experience. JT Hockey is not responsible for cancellations due to events beyond its control (e.g., facility closures, weather). Where possible, sessions will be rescheduled, but no refunds will be issued for such disruptions.
13. Communication Consent
By registering, you agree to receive email and/or text communications related to JT Hockey programming, updates, and registration opportunities. You may unsubscribe from promotional communications at any time.
14. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
By submitting a registration, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions.
